For parents and educators

One challenge. One jewel. Glints ready to use.

Every worksheet starts with grade-matched glints that an adult can connect to a reward routine at home or in the classroom. Use the default, personalize it, or simply ignore it.

The short version

Two rewards with two different jobs

Built into every challenge

A jewel marks the math

Completing a problem earns exactly one jewel. Its gem type reflects the mathematical area, and its level reflects the problem’s thinking challenge.

  • One whole jewel per completed problem
  • Kept permanently in the learner’s jewel case
  • Never spent and never exchanged for glints

On by default and adult controlled

Glints can bridge to real life

Glints are a separate number shown on each worksheet. They can stand for marbles, points, stickers, or nothing at all.

  • Generic worksheets use a grade-matched default
  • Personalized worksheets may adjust for the learner or use an adult override
  • Separate from the worksheet’s jewel and difficulty rating

If you choose to use glints

You decide what they mean

MathJewels keeps the math record. Your family or classroom keeps the real-life routine.

  1. 1

Choose who the worksheet is for

Create a profile for each learner. Educators can organize those learners in classroom rosters.

  2. 2

    Accept or change the suggestion

The suggestion considers the learner’s grade baseline, the math level, the thinking challenge, and the amount of work. You may replace it with your own whole number.

  3. 3

    Connect it—or don’t

After the work is completed, use the promised glints with your own jar, chart, or points system. Or ignore glints and simply collect the jewel.

A familiar classroom example

One glint can equal one marble

A marble jar can make progress visible. A teacher may translate learner glints into an existing classroom routine, while MathJewels keeps each learner’s record independent.

Example: A reward worksheet promises 4 glints. When the class completes the challenge, add 4 marbles to the existing jar. What fills the jar—and what happens when it is full—remains entirely up to you.

Keep the boundary simple: jewels show mathematical accomplishments inside MathJewels; glints can point outward to your optional incentive system. Glints are not grades, and MathJewels does not set or deliver the real-life reward.

Common questions

Use as much or as little as fits

Do I need an account?

No. Every public worksheet and answer key works without one. An adult account is only needed for learner profiles, classroom rosters, personalized glint promises, and saved reward history.

Does a class share one reward record?

No. A classroom is a roster, not a learner. Each member keeps an independent jewel case, glint ledger, and attempt history.

Must I use the worksheet’s glints?

No. The printed number is ready to use, but it does not require a real-life reward. A personalized worksheet may use a learner-specific suggestion or any adult-selected whole number from 1 through 100.

Do glints change the jewel?

No. The worksheet’s jewel is determined by the mathematics and challenge level. Glints remain separate, so an incentive choice never changes the mathematical accomplishment.
